Happy New Year!

Congratulations, you made it to the year 2021! It seems a bit surreal to have made it to 2021 considering all of the events that transpired in 2020. I mean, let’s face it, 2020 proved to be one of the most challenging years some of us have ever encountered. The threat of the Covid-19 virus took us all by storm and left many of us asking God, “What are you doing?” Millions of people across the nation experienced a loss of employment, students were forced to complete their studies in their living rooms rather than the classroom, and health care professionals and other essential workers across the globe selflessly and tirelessly worked to provide aid to those who were suffering from the Coronavirus disease. Not to mention the nationwide protests due to racial injustice, a polarizing election, “murder hornets” reported in the United States, the loss of several iconic figures in the entertainment industry, along with the looming uncertainty and fear for the future. I mean, you were there; 2020 was rough on all of us.

And while New Year’s Day may not have been quite as celebratory as we had hoped due to Covid restrictions, we must take the time to remember to give thanks for all of the many blessings we have received this year (one major one being, WE ARE STILL ALIVE!!!!).

Despite every up and every down that 2020 had to offer, by the grace of God, we made it to see another year. Are things perfect? No, they are not. But, do you have your life, health, strength, your faith (even if its small; remember it doesn’t take much to move mountains Matthew 17:20), a brand new appreciation for your family, a reverence and respect for time that you may not have had before, or maybe even a brand new hobby that brings you joy? Yes!

The year 2020 will definitely be a year that we will never forget. But, my prayer is that you remember 2020 not only for its tragedies but also for its lessons and its blessings, even the small ones. The outside world may not have changed much, but let's remember to be thankful to God for His faithfulness and for bringing us through another challenging year.

Welcome to God’s Grace Magazine and welcome to the year 2021! Everything is different now, but, by the grace of God, we are going to make it through this year together.
